I thought it would be fun to blog about phobias. Charity has a book of lists, and we were enjoying laughing at reading about some of the unusual phobias. So I thought I would make a list of some of my past and present phobias -- just for fun. If you have Phobophobia (fear of phobias), you may want to look away! If you have Logophobia (fear of words), then you're not even here, so why am I talking to you?
Childhood phobias: (* -- ones I still have now)
Teratophobia (monsters)
Lygophobia (darkness)
*Enissophobia (criticism)
Brontophobia (thunder and lightning)
Androphobia (men)

Lilapsophobia (tornadoes and hurricanes)

Demophobia (crowds)

Athazagoraphobia (being forgotton or ignored)
Phobias I plan to develop in the future:
Phagophobia (eating) -- what better weight loss plan could there be?
Francophobia (France or French culture) -- they deserve it
Politicophobia (politicians) -- so do most of them
Mageirocophobia (cooking) -- will get me out of cooking
Kathisophobia (sitting down) -- will get me more exercise
Limnophobia (lakes) -- handy for not having to be seen in a swimsuit ever again

Somniphobia (sleeping)

Peladophobia (bald people) -- I'd have to get a new husband

Very Unusual Phobias:
Aibohphobia (palindromes) -- I think this is a joke
Metrophobia (poetry)
Pantophobia (everything) -- looks like a fear of pants, but then I guess pants would be included
Arachibutyrophobia (peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth)
Nephophobia (clouds)
Octophobia (the number 8) -- people with this shouldn't read Terry Pratchett books
New Phobias -- more things to be afraid of (I made these up)
Legophobia (fear of going barefoot -- especially in a child's room)
Snorophobia (fear of falling asleep in public -- especially church)
Parallelparkophobia (fear of parallel parking)
Polidentophobia (fear that your teeth are going to fall out someday)
Blognomophobia (fear of running out of things to blog about)
