Ian is 12 today. He is my 4th child, the kid formerly known as "danger baby", "Smiles a Lot" (from Dances With Wolves) and "Guy Smiley". He is the most interesting kid. As a newborn he was quiet -- so quiet I was worried I wouldn't hear him cry at night. He was also fascinated with his hands. We have him on video when we brought him home from the hospital. He looked like he was doing sign language. When he got a little older he looked just like a little man, and he would smile a lot. He was a very happy baby most of the time. Once he became mobile, he loved to push buttons, and when you told him "no", it was just part of a fun game. He earned the "danger baby" nickname, because he always had a sixth sense for finding danger. We used to play a game where we would hold up 2 objects, and he would ALWAYS reach for the dangerous object. When he learned to walk, he was so funny to watch, because he totally swaggered like a cowboy. On his 2nd birthday, when we were singing "Happy Birthday" to him, he freaked out and was yelling "shut up" at everyone. We were laughing so hard that it was hard to finish the song. I think that was about when the trouble really started. But he is beginning to get that temper under control more now. We have often thought that instead of having a short fuse, he never had a fuse, LOL. He's just getting out of the phase where he has to take everything apart to see how it works (worked, LOL). I have no doubt that he will have a job dismantling and/or re-building things someday.
P.S. Ian hates the flat-top picture, so imagine him with much longer, cooler-looking hair, OK?
P.S. Again (can't remember how you do that) Scott just reminded me that Ian was also crowned "King Vitamin" at age two when he ate some vitamins with iron and had to have his stomach pumped. :P
