I thought I would take a break from my busy schedule of reading blogs, taking online quizzes, and posting dumb pictures, and actually write something serious. I've been thinking about war a lot, especially this year. And my opinion has evolved to this: War stinks, but sometimes you have to fight. Sometimes you can't negotiate. You can never negotiate effectively with bad guys. Yes, there are bad guys. Bad guys don't just want to get along and hug and be your friend. They want to step on your face. They want to hurt you and scare you and take away your stuff. They want to make you do what they want you to, and they want to murder you. You waste your breath pandering to terrorists and dictators.
In the post 9-11 world, we need to fight terrorists and dictators. We don't need to worry about the U.N., France or Germany. We need to protect our own interests, as we sure as heck can't count on anyone else to. I sleep better at night knowing that we are strong on national defense and fighting terrorism. I don't care what other countries think. Where would most of the free world be without the U.S.?
War, what is it good for? War is good for keeping us free from terrorists and dictators. That is my opinion.
