Scott took down the Christmas

Scott took down the Christmas tree yesterday. I was ready for it to go because it wasn't looking too good, and it was shedding badly. In our military days, we always used a fake tree. A couple of years ago I threw that one away. We bought a live dwarf spruce at Lowe's last year. It was over $60, and you could plant it in the yard afterward. And it started to die just recently, right when the one year guarantee ran out -- it figures. Scott wants to give it little more time before he cuts it down to see if it will live, but it's an evergreen --- and it isn't.

Anyway, we had planned to buy another tree like it for this Christmas, but since the other one died, it seemed pointless to spend that much. So this year we got a regular chopped down tree. And it was OK a couple of weeks ago when Scott brought it home, and we kept it watered faithfully. Yesterday Scott took it out and burned it. He said it burst into flame and was gone in 15 seconds. I thought it was unusual that he was back so quickly. He looked a little shaken, and said that from now on we're going to have a fake tree. I think he's been converted, LOL. Ian then related that when Charity's friend was over here, she was trying to light the ends of the needles with a lighter. Nice. I'm glad she didn't burn our house down. :o
