Yesterday was our ward's annual Primary program. It was great. The kids were So Cute, especially the littlest ones. But my favorite part of the program was when they sang this beautiful song:
I Lived In Heaven

I lived in heaven a long time ago, it is true;
Lived there and loved there with people I know, so did you.
Then Heav'nly Father presented a beautiful plan,
All about earth and eternal salvation for man.
Father said he needed someone who had enough love
To give his life so we all could return there above.
There was another who sought for the honor divine.
Jesus said, "Father, send me, and the glory be thine."
Jesus was chosen, and as the Messiah he came,
Conquering evil and death through his glorious name,
Giving us hope of a wonderful life yet to be ---
Home in that heaven where Father is waiting for me.
It was almost as if they were angels up there. It touched me so deeply. The scripture reference for this song is:
Doctrine and Convenants 138:56
Even before they were born, they, with many others, received their first lessons in the world of spirits and were prepared to come forth in the due time of the Lord to labor in his vineyard for the salvation of the souls of men.
I actually thought this one would apply as well:
Jeremiah 1: 5
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee...
I felt so bad for one little girl who sang a solo so beautifully. After the program she went to go find her father, and he had left without saying good-bye to her. She was crying. I felt so bad for her. Some dads just don't understand how important thay are in their child's life, and if they do figure it out, it's when their kid is grown up and they don't see them very often. Of course, the same can be said for mothers sometimes. I'm pretty sure that if he could have seen how devasted she was, he would have felt pretty rotten. It just makes me feel so grateful for Scott. He's a really good father who is almost always very interested in the things our children do, and he enjoys spending time with them.
