FamilyLife Jason Blogged! Jason

FamilyLife

Jason Blogged!
Jason finally blogged again! I've been harrassing him for awhile. He's good, and I hope he keeps it up. I keep telling him to write something different sometimes. He writes a lot of fantasy, which is great. I just want him to practice other writing styles.

Jason also got his hair cut today, or as Brother Stevens would say, "got his ears lowered." He looks good.

Cassandra Is Looking at Baby Names
Cassandra called yesterday, and she and baby are doing alright. She and Mark are still job-hunting. They are also looking at baby names. I seriously hope that Cassandra picks the name, as some of Mark's less revolting choices were "Drake" and "Neville." But we don't know the baby's sex yet. "Avery" was a name that didn't make me want to puke too bad. I'm trying to look on the bright side of grandmotherhood, aren't I?

The Cats
There were teeth marks all over the butter this morning when I went into the kitchen. Someone left the lid off the butter dish. It had to be Gammie and Zuul --- that did the teeth marks. I doubt they took the lid off the butter dish.

Charity and Mom Have "Toe Thumbs"
An unfortunate but interesting trait I inherited from my maternal grandmother who had one normal thumb and one "toe thumb." Click here to see the freakshow.

Padi Gives Our Bed Her Own Personal Rinse
Scott was holding Piglet last night right before bedtime, and I noticed Padi pawing the bed up by the pillows. That's because she had peed on it there. I guess she was jealous that Scott was paying attention to Piglet. She hit Christopher's bed last week. I guess she's just really unbalanced right now because she's in heat. Maybe it's like PMS, and if so I guess she has a right to be b*tchy. She is a female dog after all. But I will never get caught up with the laundry with all her help.

Cedar Is Tenacious
Cedar is Christopher's little female hamster. She's the one who took a ride in Zuul's jaws and lived to tell the tale. We had to literally pry her out of Zuul's jaws is more like it. She must have at least 9 lives herself, as the cats have managed to go in for the kill many, many times. I finally moved her and the houseplants into my bathroom. Cedar is a very persistant individual, as she has managed to unscrew some of the "doors" off her cage in the past and escape. She lets me pick her up again-- no problem. She shouldn't be running around on the floor with our cats on the prowl. Now that I've taped them shut, she just tries and tries to to chew her way through a tiny ventilation hole. She doesn't seem to be making any progress at all, but she doesn't give up. It sort of reminds me of Shawshank Redemption. All she needs is the tiny hammer.

And that's it for today's family news...
