I should get around to talking about our Family Home Evening last night. We didn't really plan anything, and none of us were too enthusiastic, but we went ahead and did it--- and it turned out to be really fun. We sang "We Thank Thee O God For A Prophet," then had an opening prayer by Christopher. Jason gave an impromptu lesson about the passover celebration, and how everything in it is a symbol of Jesus Christ. I'm sure he learned about it in Seminary recently. Then we sang "The Spirit of God," and Charity gave the closing prayer.
Afterwards, we had a lot of fun playing our homemade version of Pictionary. A few months ago we typed up a lot of random names of people, shows, movies, common phrases, short scripture quotes and names, etc., and then cut them apart and put them in a hat. (There is really no reason to buy the game for $24.95 IMHO, unless you have no imagination at all). Then we divided into 2 teams, the Mom Team and the Dad Team-- Mom Team won! :) We draw a picture on the white board for our team to guess (in about 3 min.), and if we don't guess the other team gets a chance to guess. Some of them are really hard. We keep all the slips of paper to reuse someday, but so far we haven't had to. We just keep them separated in 2 zipper bags, one marked "done," and we just put the ones we've used in there. No other activity we've done has ever been this popular with everyone. "Twister" is always popular with the kids, but Scott and I don't really enjoy contorting ourselves anymore.

Look for future FHE updates. Maybe we'll find something else fun to do next week.
