I couldn't get on Blogger

I couldn't get on Blogger yesterday. I was disappointed, but I got over it by playing more of The Sims. ;) If you don't play The Sims, then the rest of this is going to sound pretty stupid -- i.e. I'm not really a grown-up, but I play one in real life. ;)

On the game I made a boarding school with 8 children -- the maximum number of characters in one house. Of course, there are drawbacks in the game to having only children in the house. No one can cook. The only way they can make money is to paint, and they don't get much that way. They can't hire a maid or a gardener. So anyway, since they must be rich kids to live at a boarding school, I'm using the money cheat. They call in a caterer every day. The food isn't that great, but it's much more satisfying than the potato chips they get from the refrigerator (weird, huh?). A school bus shows up every stinking day even though I'm trying to run a boarding school, LOL. At first I tried to keep them off the bus, but it doesn't work that well, plus they have to do a lot of studying to keep up their grades. I decided that it must be a field trip bus -- and they get a field trip every day if they make it to the bus, LOL. When they don't make it to the bus, they have to study for a long time.

The expensive computers are great because they do double duty for studying and a quick way to meet their need for fun. Bathrooms are a big problem. I'm using the auto-flushing toilets, but I need to make more bathrooms. I thought about using stalls since there is a real privacy issue -- they won't go if someone else walks in. But stall toilets get clogged -- from what I remember. I would have to use some sort of editor to get the stalls anyway -- I think. I didn't see them in the menu. Showers are a problem too. The kids get water everywhere. Plus, showers get leaky and kids can't fix them or call the repairman. I put showers in their own separate 2x2 rooms. That seems to work the best, and keeps them from getting "stuck".

I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but I can put in a couple of servos (robotic maids) to get the cleaning done. That would cut down on the roach problem.

Well, now I'm ready to play again for a little while before I have to go see Dr. S. Then I get to go grocery shopping. I'll try to blog later today. I may even talk about something other than The Sims.
