I haven't posted for a few days. A lot is going on, plus I'm playing The Sims again -- a lot. ;) We're going up to Silver Dollar City today. Scott and the kids went in the summer, but I didn't want to go because it was so hot. And then, last time we went up there -- the day before Halloween -- it was closed. We checked the calendar this time to make sure it would be open, LOL.

Last night was the annual chili supper for the fire department where my dad was a volunteer for over 20 years. (They moved recently -- only about 65 miles away). My mom and dad were there as well as Scott's parents and other people we knew from church -- not to mention so many people that it was standing room only when we got there. I said good-bye to my mom and dad and gave them their presents. They just got a new motor home and are heading south for the winter to south Texas and on to Arizona. They won't be here for Christmas.

Yesterday I had all of 30 minutes to shop for my mom and dad's Christmas gifts. I didn't have the money before now, and yesterday was payday. I had some ideas at least. I headed for Wal-Mart at first, but by the traffic alone I realized that that would be crazy. So I went to K-Mart. When you want to avoid the crowds here, K-Mart is the place. Even with the tons of shoppers, K-Mart's lot was only about 1/4 full. I found an Enya CD for my mom -- one she doesn't have and the only Enya CD (whew!), and a couple of other little things to go with it. My dad is so hard to shop for because if he wants something, he's already bought it for himself. And if he hasn't, I surely won't be able to afford it. So I got him a really soft fleece blanket because his feet are always cold. And I put in some of his favorite candy -- orange slices.

Anyway, I guess I will get ready to go and clean a little. Scott has a funeral to go to this morning, and then we'll be on our way. If I hurry, I may get in some more time on The Sims. ;)
