This is my brain on summer...

my brain on summerMy husband and I are seriously considering making a move way up north one of these years, as neither one of us can take the heat. My husband has this excessive sweating thing -- can't remember the medical name of it. Anyway, he sweats profusely. Hyperhydrosis, he says. Thanks, honey. Anyway, I don't have that problem. I just get sick and weak almost any hot day in the summer that I have to leave my meat locker and venture forth into the hot, cruel world. I have never been able to take the Arkansas summers, even when I moved here as a teenager. I get dehydrated and get heat exhaustion so easily.

Anyway, I had to take my daughter to the doctor today. She has had hives for a few days -- a completely new development. Anyway, I'll brag on myself a little -- I diagnosed it correctly. So anyway, I took Charity to get something to eat at Subway after I picked up her prescription, and I must have cooked my brain in the heat. First I couldn't find my check card, so I had to write a check. I stood there trying to write a check, and I couldn't remember the name of the restaurant, the day of the month, or even the month! Then I had to look at the amount 3 times. At least I remembered my name.

But I seriously don't know how many more years we can stand it here. Of course, Scott and I are both under 40 -- not old folks yet. But someday we may end up being the only old folks that migrate to a colder climate. Or I guess to be loyal to Arkansas that we love, we may have to get an RV and spend the summers up north and the rest of the year here.

The older I get the more I want to move away from this searing heat and lung clogging humidity... You're not alone!! ;)
